HOPE THOU IN GOD…

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Psalm 42:5

What situation in your life is making you nervous or fearful? What’s got you feeling overwhelmed or even helpless?  Are you depressed about it?  Where would you like to see God demonstrate His power in your life?

God’s presence in our lives is not merely a doctrine to believe; it is a reality to be lived out.  We need to be mindful that every situation we encounter, and every stressful set of circumstances unfolds in the context of Almighty God’s presence with us.  Nothing takes God by surprise.  He is with you in the fire and in the dark places.  Let that truth sink in; the Lord is with us!

When a situation looks really daunting, let’s avoid assuming that God does not care; on the contrary.  You have no idea how close your answer may be.  Don’t you dare give up! Today may be the day that God does a miracle in your life.   Just because you do not see the answer does not mean God is not preparing one in His perfect timing.

While you wait, you may find yourself confused, hurting, worried, and you may even get a little depressed about it.  Let me encourage you to find a friend to pray with you. In times of turmoil there is no better place to be than with someone who trusts in God.  But please know that God’s presence is with you.  “Why are you depressed, O my soul? Why are you upset? Wait for God! For I will again give thanks to my God for his saving intervention.”
