But You, O Lord, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
Psalm 22:19
In the times of crisis, Call on the Lord!!! When Psalm 22 opens, it immediately reveals that David is in grave trouble. “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” David thought that God was not hearing His prayers. Furthermore, David says in verses 14-15 that he was poured out like water, his bones were out of joint, his heart was broken, he was without strength, and God brought him to the “dust of death”. One could not feel any lower and be in more pain inside and outside than David felt in the time of his crises.
Maybe your circumstances don’t look good right now. In times of crisis, I say let’s take the focus off of what is happening to us and focus on getting into the presence of the Lord. Call on the Lord. He will not only rescue you but allow you to get into His presence. In His presence is fullness of joy. Our circumstances won’t look so big when we recognize how much bigger our God is. When we focus on God in even the worst of predicaments, we will always discover that He is near, and that His presence is our deliverance.
Right now, Call on Him and focus on God’s presence right where you are. Ask Him to deliver you from what is bringing you down – enemies, doubt, fear, poverty, loneliness, illness, broken relationships – Call on the Lord, and watch Him work. His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Call on the Lord, and He will help you in time of need.
